Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Ortho-Bionomy® is a non-invasive, gentle bodywork rooted in osteopathic principles. It works with your body’s nervous system and intrinsic ability to heal itself. While the body is designed for self-correction, factors like chronic pain, physical & emotional trauma, surgery, and stuck fascia can interrupt this natural process. Our practitioners are specifically trained to identify these areas to support and accelerate the healing process.
-
Ortho-Bionomy’s® non-invasive techniques are gentle enough for all, from children to elders, from acute to chronic pain sufferers from the immobile to the super athletic.

Each individual's healing journey is unique. During your initial assessment in Tigard or Lake Oswego, our practitioners work closely with you to identify a path tailored to your specific goals - whether that’s chronic pain relief, stress reduction, or injury recovery.
We typically recommend a series of three sessions to fully experience the cumulative benefits of Ortho-Bionomy®. As you become more attuned to your body, these subtle shifts lead to the long-term positive transformations and structural balance you are looking for.
-
While Ortho-Bionomy® shares commonalities with massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, and reiki, it is a distinct somatic system.
While you will feel relaxed and pampered, a session at our Tigard or Lake Oswego office is doing much more: it is inviting your body’s self-corrective reflexes to activate. This “re-education” continues to work long after you leave; you body can proces and integrate the structural shifts for up to 72 hours.

No. We prefer that you wear very comfortable clothing. We suggest shorts, leggings, sweats, T-Shirts. Nothing bulky with heavy material (denim, wool, polyester), hoods, lots of pockets, zippers, or heavy waistbands you find in jeans. Your complete comfort is of the most importance to our practitioners.

Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. Drink plenty of water as your body is making changes and the hydration assists in this process. Rest if possible. Don’t exert yourself unnecessarily as this may interrupt the healing process.
